Basic Mechanicals
Description:
Five day Basic Mechanics course addresses the mechanic's need to understand his own work environment. Terminology is discussed and used. Some terms covered are energy, work, force, torque and pressure. Emphasis is placed on the study of motion as it applies to helping the mechanics. The six simple machines and their variations are studied. Practical applied mathematics, related to gear ratios, belt lengths, and mechanical advantage, is studied to reinforce concepts discussed in the classroom and lab. This course is recommended for anyone, of any craft, working in maintenance.
